No. Deposit brokers or agents are not regulated as an industry in most provinces but are subject to the general laws of the province. The exception is the province of Saskatchewan where the Saskatchewan Securities Commission regulates deposit agents.

The FCIDB was organized as a means of dealing with rising regulatory expectations and to enhance investor protection.
